COMMENT
This is HELMUT LANG tailored jacket from Lang’s own period, for which Peter Do recently unveiled a stunning collection (in 2023). The first collection by Peter Do was fine, but I guess it’s because the times were better (one of reasons). I believe that past directors also took great pains to create their works, keeping in mind the trends of the time and avoiding copying. Lang’s style in his own time is well suited to current trends, so I think it was relatively easy to quote his style. A few years ago, the jacket featured here may have seemed like just a classic jacket. But maybe we can put it to use now.
先日（2023年）にピータードゥが見事なコレクションを披露したヘルムートラングの、ラング本人期のテーラードジャケットです。ピータードゥによるファーストコレクションは文句なしでしたが、時代が良かったということもありますよね。過去のディレクター達も、丸コピーを避けつつ、当時のトレンドを意識しつつ、苦心して作っていたんだろうと思っております。本人期のラングの作風が今のトレンドによく合っているので、わりと作風を引用しやすかったのではないかと思います。今回掲載したジャケットは、一昔前だとただの古い、古典的なジャケットとしか感じなかったかもしれません。今はひょっとしたら活用できるかもしれませんね。
